“Beppu Art Month 2012” public art festival
“Beppu Art Month” is a culture festival taking place throughout the city over two months in autumn, which is open to public participation. Anyone can put on his or her own program regardless of scale or genre, as long as it is related to the arts. The festival is intended to provide opportunities for people with ideas for art projects but no venue for public exposure. All sorts of programs can be enjoyed during this period, including performances by internationally-active dancers, talk events, photography exhibits, and workshops by Beppu citizens. As these programs are held here and there throughout the city, in locations ranging from rooms in private homes to public halls and department stores, making the rounds is a great way to get to know the city of Beppu better. This is the third “Beppu Art Month” , and 150 programs by approximately 120 organizations are scheduled over the 58-day period.

Choose the ideal tour for you
Various kinds of tours are scheduled so as to ensure everyone can enjoy “Mixed Bathing World 2012” in their own way, including Beppu City walking tours that make the rounds of the art on display, art-viewing tours led by producers and directors, and a female-oriented Beppu tour led by the editorial staff of the Tabi Techo Beppu travel guide. In addition, tickets will go on sale for the “Go!! To Mixed Bathing World 2012” special tour series departing from Tokyo’ s Haneda Airport, held in collaboration with various groups and individuals and incorporating exclusive events and talk symposiums for tour participants only.

Guided tours (Kannawa area)
This walking guided tour will be done by producers and directors of “Mixed Bathing World”. They will provide information about the work of arts while telling also about the historical, social, economic background of the city of Beppu.

English guide tour
Foreigner staff of the “Mixed Bathing World” organization team will make you a tour in English or French of Beppu city and the works of art seen through the eyes of a foreigner in Beppu.

This guided tour will be ensure by the creative editorial team of the offical guidebook 2012 of “Mixed Bathing World” “Tabi Techo (Notebook) Beppu”. You will get to know all the tips of Beppu!

Beppu Yukemuri University
The Beppu Yukemuri (Hot Spring Steam) University Mixed Bathing World Seminar, led by festival executive producer Jun’ya Yamaide , will be held a total of eight times, every Tuesday from 19:00 to 20:00. Dialogues will be held among artists, curators, socially-conscious entrepreneurs, and a wide variety of people visiting Beppu for the festival.

Tabi Techo Beppu, the official guidebook of “Mixed Bathing World” festival in Beppu!
Visitors in Beppu could also take for free “Tabi Techo Beppu”, the guidebook 2012 of “Mixed Bathing World”. Alongside with “Tabi Techo Beppu”, there will be published “Tabi Techo” maps showing useful information (restaurants, coffee places, boutiques). A special boutique, selectshop “Plateform 04″, located in Beppu is a boutique where you will find unique art products made by local and international artists coming to Beppu.
